WHY YOU SHOULD READ BOND RATINGS

Bond ratings have been established in order to evaluate the perceived risk of default in specific issues of bonds.  Bond investors, knowing their personal tolerance for risk, can use bond ratings to determine which bonds are most suitable for their tastes. Understanding what default risk is and how bond ratings are used to measure it can help you choose bonds that will help you meet your investment goals.
